It has been many long ages since I posted a Wednesday work-in-progress. But today: ta da! Before your eyes magically appears a fresh one, suggesting that I have, in fact, been doing creative work on a Wednesday. Hooray!
Some of it involved painting of very small canvasses.
But some of it also involved photographing my dirty paintbrush water, which apparently I have a fetish for.
So there you go. What have you been working on?

Okay... well not quite favourite things of mine... but maybe you could try this too?
Think of the everday things you love to wear (not necessarily all at once), and search for them among the masses of pics on flickr.com. Copy and paste the URLs of each pic you choose into this mosaic maker (selecting the option for two columns and three rows). And see what you come up with!
Mine are: denim skirt; striped hoodie; grey crochet hat (a newbie given to me on my birthday!); black sandals; brown bag; gold key & heart necklace. What are yours?
1. altered denim skirt, 2. Red & Black Hoodie, 3. grey blue hat, 4. Sandals cutout, 5. Vintage Crochet Rattan Handles Bag, 6. He Who Holds The Key Pendant

This image of a Letter Writing Party comes from a newish blog called Post Letters! I'm pretty excited by this picture. In fact, I want to jump into it and have a go of that teeny cute typewriter. Anyone want to come and have a letter-writing party with me?

April is National Poetry Month in the U.S. And to that I say, Why not international poetry month? Let's make it Poetry Month here in Australia, too!
The website of the Academy of American Poets offers information on National Poetry Month, including a sign-up form to receive a poem every day this month straight to your inbox.
Isn't the rain just lovely? For those not soaking it up, we're getting a huge downpour! The wind was blowing a gale last night, and today the rain hasn't stopped. It's that really lovely wintery feeling weather that makes you want to curl up with a hot chocolate and watch Sense & Sensibility.
We got some goodies in the mail the other day, and they were the inpsiring sort of goodies. We got this set of stamps and quickly got to work. There are so many different styles you can achieve with the stamps, and I'm looking forward to trying lots more!
Here's what I came up with last weekend:
What have you been creating?
It's been way too long since I've been here to chat about stuff. The last entry announced the winner of our giveaway, and now those goodies are well and truly settled in their new homes.
It's Autumn here now, as of the first of this month (contrary to popular American belief that every country's seasons change the same day as theirs!). The change is finally starting to show with lovely cool breezes that come during the day, not just at the end of one. The sun has been shining delightfully, and we've had little amounts of rain that keep the grass a lucious green. We have a tree/stalk/growth-of-some-kind growing out in the front yard, that, until it gets branches and buds, looks like a giant asparagus stalk. We call it the asparagus tree. But this tree, even though it looks like asparagus, makes us happy. Because it is attractive. Attractive to birds. And such beautiful birds they are!
We caught these gorgeous rainbow lorikeets nibbling away at the buds the other day:
Along with the new season has come some new things for Love, JanieLou. We have both been busy at work with new stuff, and we've also had some outside interest that has added some more busyness. It makes us happy. Very soon you will find Love, JanieLou purses for kids available over at The Clothesline. Andrea and Marie have created a cute site combining products from various Australian artists, so that you can find adorable goodies for your kids all in one spot. They also go to the odd market here and there, and took our purses to the Mathilda's Market that was held in Brisbane last Sunday.
Back into stitching and stuff I go, but please don't go without sharing what's new for you!
xo Lauren
We have winners! And they are:
Rachel and Jenny!
Congratulations girls! We hope you love your goodies. JanieLou is going to Rachel's home, and we're sure she'll be very loved there, and we hope Jenny gets a lot of use out of the journal.
Thanks to you all for participating in the giveaway and for the cheery birthday messages! You made it really special!
