I was going to apologise for the unscheduled blogging break, but that would suggest we actually possess a schedule for our blogging and, well, I wouldn't like to deceive. The silence (unscheduled or otherwise) is because Lauren and I zipped soutwards for five days spent with eight other girls to celebrate one lovely lady's 21st.
Lauren took this picture from the beautiful brick pylons which support the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Meanwhile, I was down on ground level eating pastries at La Renaissance (where they say merci and it doesn't sound stupid) with a friend and imagining I was a convict girl slipping through the alleyways of The Rocks. It was fun.
We're back home now and we have Ideas, but it's a busy season. Yesterday a friend, en route back to New South Wales before heading to New Zealand, stopped to pick up her car (which we were babysitting) and stayed the night. We talked and consumed an unearthly amount of chocolate whilst watching Sahara and discussing how hilarious Steve Zahn is ("Hi. How are ya?"). This weekend, Easter is here, and then comes a string of family birthdays and guests and visits back and forth and exciting occasions like world'scutestniece's first birthday. And such. So the first half of 2008 is busy.
Nevertheless, we have Ideas, and we're looking forward to carving out some time to experiment with them. And I've also been collecting a list of inspirations in a notebook, and I plan to share them in a slow little trickle here, because inspiration in a big handful can be too overwhelming. For now, here's a bite-size morsel: Loobylu has started blogging again. Yay!
d.
P.S. And a quote which I think (and hope) is funny even if you haven't seen Sahara:
Dirk Pitt: I'm sorry, I don't speak English.
Gunboat Officer: You are speaking English right now.
Dirk Pitt: No, I only know how to say, "I don't speak English" in English!
